When I first designed my personalised placemats, I wanted them to be more than just something lovely to put on the table. I wanted them to become part of family life – used every day, growing with children and making everyday moments just that little bit easier.
Over the years, that’s exactly what so many families have told me has happened.
More Than Just Mealtimes

Of course, they are perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but that’s often just the beginning.
Many families keep their placemat on the kitchen table all day, ready for whatever comes next. One minute it’s catching cereal spills, the next it’s protecting the table during colouring, Play-Doh, baking or homework.
It’s amazing how one little placemat can become a child’s own special space.
Encouraging Independence
Children love having something that’s just for them.
Seeing their own name on their placemat gives them a sense of ownership, and many parents tell me it encourages their little ones to sit at the table more happily. As they get older, they naturally begin recognising the letters in their name and talking about the pictures around the edge.
Some families even use the placemat to help children learn to lay the table independently by placing their plate, cup and cutlery in the same place each day.

Making Mealtimes Feel Calmer
Let’s be honest – not every family meal is picture-perfect!
Whether it’s your little one discovering yoghurt can be spread rather than eaten, or your eldest who’s convinced they don’t like carrots today (despite loving them yesterday!), family mealtimes can be wonderfully chaotic.
Having a designated place at the table often helps create a familiar routine. It’s a small thing, but routines can make children feel settled and confident.

Designed to Grow With Your Child
One of my favourite things about these placemats is that they don’t have a short lifespan.
They can be enjoyed from those messy weaning days, through the nursery years, all the way to school age. They become a familiar part of everyday life, whether they’re being used for meals, crafts, baking, homework or simply protecting the table.
And years later, they’re a lovely keepsake too – a reminder of those early childhood days that somehow pass far too quickly.
I often get told by customers that their placemats have outgrown their children!

Bringing a Little Joy to Everyday Moments
As a small business, every placemat is designed with the hope that it becomes part of a family’s daily routine. Not because it’s essential, but because sometimes the little things make everyday life that bit more enjoyable.
If one of my placemats can encourage a child to sit at the table, spark a conversation about the pictures, make messy play easier, or simply make someone smile every time they see their name, then I’d say it’s doing exactly what it was designed to do.
